Last weekend, three Livingston athletes were competing in a new invite-only SprintFastest event at Grangemouth Stadium.

The club was represented across multiple age groups, with strong performances throughout the competition. The highlight of the event was a podium finish for Brodie Nixon in the Under 20 Men’s 100 metres, where he secured third place with a time of 11.18 seconds. Read more.

Rory Smith, who lives in Innerleithen, travelled to Grangemouth for the inaugural SprintFastest event. This invited Scotland’s top youth sprinters and saw invited athletes from the top of the rankings competing head-to-head in the blue riband 100m race. Redman is crowned under-17 100m champion at the SprintFastest Invitational in Grangemouth.

He ran well in the final later that afternoon, finishing first with a time of 11.15 seconds to become the U17 male champion and gold medal winner in the inaugural SprintFastest championships. Read more.

Is there an entry fee for athletes?

No, invited athletes participate for free.

What races are included?

Only the 100m sprint.

Why is it only 100m and why are other sprint distances not included?

SprintFastest focuses exclusively on the 100m sprint because it is the most iconic and accessible sprint event, the purest test of speed. By keeping the format simple and exciting, we aim to:

Maximise audience engagement with fast-paced, easy-to-follow races.
Reduce barriers to entry for new spectators and young athletes unfamiliar with athletics.
Create a festival atmosphere that celebrates speed and youth energy without overwhelming complexity.

This approach allows us to spotlight Scotland’s fastest young talents in a way that’s thrilling, inclusive, and memorable, especially for those who may be discovering athletics for the first time.

Do athletes need to bring their own kit?

Yes, bring your club vest or sprint gear and spikes.

What time should athletes arrive?

Athletes should arrive by 9:00 AM. Registration opens from 8:30 AM.

Are there changing facilities?

Yes, indoor changing and warm-up areas are available.

Will athletes receive any merchandise?

Finalists will receive SprintFastest branded kit.

Will there be electronic timing?

Yes, all races use electronic timing.

Will race photos be available?

Yes, professional race photos and videos will be shared post-event.

Can coaches accompany athletes?

Yes, coaches are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Is there a designated area for coaches?

Yes, there will be a coach zone near the track.

Can coaches register athletes?

No, athletes are selected based on Power of 10 rankings so will be sent instructions on how to self-register.

Will coaches receive event updates?

Yes, updates will be shared via email for those who register for newsletter and across our social media.

Can coaches provide feedback post-event?

Yes, a feedback form will be available online.

Can clubs nominate athletes?

No, selection is based on verified Power of 10 performances.

Can clubs bring groups to spectate?

Yes, group ticket discounts may be available, reach out to us to find out more.

Will club logos be featured?

Only if they are event partners or sponsors.

Can clubs set up stalls?

No, however, we will endeavour to spotlight clubs as much as possible.

Will club coaches get access to athlete data?

Race results will be published and shared on OpenTrack for everyone to see.

Do family members need tickets?

Yes. Adult (Early Bird): £5. Adult (Regular Price): £9. Children under 16s enter free. We have made entry to this event free for athletes as it is them we are trying to celebrate.

Is the event child-friendly?

Absolutely — there will be kids’ zone, music, entertainment, and café is open for food and drinks to be purchased.

Can parents take photos?

Yes, but professional media will also be available.

Is there parking on-site?

Yes, free parking is available.

Are there food options?

Yes, on-site café is open for food and drinks to be purchased.

Gates open at 10:00 AM.
